A Lhotse expedition typically lasts around 55-60 days, beginning with arrival and preparation in Kathmandu, followed by a multi-day trek to Everest Base Camp, which serves as the staging point for Lhotse. The expedition then involves extensive acclimatization and climbing rotations through Lhotse’s camps (I, II, and III) before the final summit push from Camp IV. After descending, base camp is cleaned, and the trek back to Lukla for a flight to Kathmandu concludes the journey.
Days 1-3:
Arrive in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel. Rest, expedition briefing, equipment checks, and official formalities.
Days 4-10:
Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla.Trek through the Everest region, passing through villages like Phakding and Namche Bazaar for acclimatization, eventually reaching Everest Base Camp (EBC).
Days 11-40:
Acclimatization & Training:
Spend time at EBC and surrounding areas, including acclimatization days. Climbing
Rotations: Undertake several trips (rotations) up the mountain, moving between EBC and Camps I, II, and III to build up strength and oxygen in the body.
Days 41-50:
Summit Push: After acclimatization is complete, wait for a favorable weather window.
Days 51-57 (Final Days):
Descent: Descend from the summit and return to Base Camp.
Clean Up Base Camp: Follow guidelines for cleaning and dismantling the base camp.
Trek Down: Trek from Base Camp back down through the Khumbu Valley to Lukla.
Fly to Kathmandu: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu.
Departure: Enjoy a free day in Kathmandu and then transfer to the airport for your international flight.
