Who is Mamba Expeditions?

Mamba Expeditions is a small, private, mountaineering expedition, peak climbing and trekking company passionate about helping our clients access the world’s highest peaks and valleys. Based in Nepal, in the Himalayas, we know that there are limitless opportunities to explore. We pride ourselves on creating custom, special, and safe experiences no matter our client’s objective and the challenges we might potentially face. We keep our groups small, ensure proper planning and packing and work with variety of skill levels. We understand that in order to access the highest places on Earth, you need support, and we are happy to have talented, reliable friends and contacts that help us make our trips happen! Born out of love for the mountains and mountain people, Mamba Expeditions sets itself apart from the rest and we hope to be a part of your next adventure!

Namaste!

My name is Prem Bahadur Tamang aka ‘Prem Mamba’ and I am the Co-Owner and Lead Climbing and Trekking Guide for Mamba Expeditions. I grew up in Nepal in the majestic, remote Ruby Valley region of Dhading district, under the banner of Ganesh Himal. I am most excited about high altitude mountaineering and climbing the world’s highest 14 Peaks as well as Nepal’s multitude of 6-7k meter peaks, some of which have first assent (FA) potential. From 2024-25 I guided or completed 3/14 world’s highest peaks, including Everest, Lhotse and Kanchenjunga. Additionally, I have successfully guided classics, such as: Ama Dablam, Lobuche and Island Peak in the Everest Region as well as Pisang Peak, Larkey Peak, Chulu West and Thorong Peak.

I am currently working towards my ‘International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations ‘ (IFMGA) guiding certification in Nepal with the help of the Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA). I have completed Rock Climbing Level 1, Trekking Guide Training Certification, Wilderness First Aid and UIMLA (Union of International Mountain Leader Association) Mountain Leader (Fundamental Skills) Training. In addition to formal, mountain training, I have guided with or currently partnered with the following reputable guiding companies: Imagine Nepal, Himalayan Yogi Adventure, Sherpa Khangri Outdoor, Seven Summit Treks, High Pass Adventure, Rambler Nepal and the Annapurna Trekking Agency.

My name is Madeline aka ‘Maddie’, I am the co-owner and CEO of Mamba Expeditions. I was born and raised in Tulsa, OK, USA and spent 8 years in Colorado, USA. I have successfully completed my Master’s of Science in Environmental Policy and Management from University of Denver-College of Professional Studies and Bachelors of Science Environmental Health & Safety in 2020. I am additionally trained in Wilderness First Responders since 2021 (Exp. 2027 with Desert Mountain Medicine). I have additional professional experience in health and safety, successfully creating and managing, international safety programs for some of the largest companies in North America. I am excited about the details of whatever I am working on and have integrity with any operation that I am a part of.

While living in Colorado, I was introduced to the world of ice and rock climbing and became a passionate student of the mountains. My favorite climbing disciplines are water ice climbing and dry tooling, the majority of my experience being in the Western United States with some additional experience in Peru. I look forward to learning, trekking and climbing more alongside my growing team and clients.

I was introduced to Nepal in 2022 when I organized a solo trek in the Everest Region, it’s in this trip that I met Prem! In January 2025, I returned to Nepal full-time to serve in the US Peace Corps as an Environmental Volunteer, reconnected with Prem and the rest is history!

Prem and I, alongside our partners (and friends) are excited help our clients reach their biggest dreams in Nepal and beyond!
