A Shishapangma expedition itinerary involves arriving in Kathmandu for permits, then an overland journey to Tibet via the border crossing at Kerung, reaching Chinese Base Camp (CBC), trekking to Advanced Base Camp (ABC) (around 5,600m), and conducting rotations to higher camps (C1, C2, C3) for acclimatization over several weeks before a summit push on the standard North-West Ridge route, followed by descent and return to Kathmandu, typically spanning 30-40+ days.
Days 1-5:
Arrival, rest in Kathmandu, Nepal. Meet with guide for welcome dinner.
Tibet visa processing, and final gear checks.
Days 6-10:
Drive to the Chinese border, cross into Tibet, and continue driving to Shishapangma Base Camp (around 4800m-5000m), with acclimatization stops in places like Nyalam or Tingri.
Days 10-13:
Rest days at Base Camp, followed by a trek to Advanced Base Camp (ABC) at 5400m.
Days 14-35:
This is the core climbing phase, including rotations between ABC, Camp I, and Camp II, and the final summit push to the 8027m peak.
Days 36-45+:
Trek back to Base Camp, pack up, drive back through Tingri/Kyirong, cross the border, and return to Kathmandu.
Free day and farewell dinner in Kathmandu.
